What are bilberries?
Bilberries are a fruit found on low growing bushes usually in the wild, they have been used for centuries, not only for home cooked delights but also for their many health benefits.
Bilberries contain a number of rich nutrients, particularly vitamins A and C, the pigments that give bilberries their rich purple colour are powerful flavonoids called Anthocyanidins.
What are Bilberries used for?
Bilberries can be used to treat a number of conditions including:

- Kidney disease
- Skin infections
- Circulation – it has been suggested that chemicals called flavonoids which are found in the bilberry leaf might contribute to improving circulation
